We;ve come this far without mentioning the humble dolly pips? I don't know anywhere that actually does these now - maybe Oswaldtwistle Sweet Mill up here in good old Lancashire ^^ Practically Steampunk just in the name there! Certainly the last time I had them was when I went there. - tiny sweets, either fruit flavoured or just plain mint, that were just the right size for giving to 'dollies' - and then scoffing yourself. Gorgeous!

*sound of metal bending, then bursting glass and arcing discharge, followed by general crashing tumult...
...which finally ends with the sound of a magneto-dynamo sputtering to silence..*
