The same friend of mine who did the circus shoot has employed me once again, this time to weld the clockwork/bike cog/saw blade shoulderblades for the White Rabbit costume in this year's Alice in Wonderland-themed set.  I thought the ole chap looked rather steampunk:

For your amusement here are Alice, the Caterpillar, and the Cheshire Cat:

This picture was taken using my favourite camera, a Sour Altoids tin with a pinhole lens.  Exposure time 45 seconds.

Wow! Is that just a tin, with a hole, and neg inside? Thats seems so easy! And I love the look....very Daguerreotype! Any chance of seeing a pic of this thing? And maybe a how-to? ;)

Sorry, these are the best I can come up with at the moment, as I have no assistant to operate electronic photographing apparatus.  However, my mobile telephone unit does have a handy electronic timing device which allows me to pose for a moment prior the image capture.  Thanks for not laughing!

I was doing some refurbishing to my workshop, and when I went to take some photos of it, I decided that I might as well throw on something a bit nicer than my usual work clothes and jump in a few of them.

I don't want to clutter up the thread, so I'll post the rest in a new one...

went to C13 in Portland this weekend so fnally had an opportunity to dress up and get a picture (not as grand as some of the previous posters). There were some great steamy outfits there, I wonder if anyone else from this board made it?  I do find it interesting that this a scene where I seem to see far more gents than ladies getting dressed up...  or maybe it is just the ladies end up looking more neo-victorian or goth?

amatol

Bajaro- Thanks. The coat is 100% nylon ... not very exciting material but it's waterproof and I loved the fit.

gpalmer- are you the maker of the amazing cog corset? (if so I saw your post on LJ anachrotech) I actually kept an eye out for it...but don't think I saw you either. There were so many people! I did wear black on Friday... so if you saw a girl in a black WWII Aviator cap with a turquise peacock feather making an ass of herself on the dance floor at the Crystal that was me!   Did you take pictures? I am wishing I had dragged my camera out more as there were some great outfits, hoping to find someone who took pics of them :). (here is a link to the photos I did take...though I am still adding to it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8547080@N07/sets/72157600280065176/)

Re: Me, Myself, and My brass goggles project.
Wherein i solicit assistance and suggestions for my the construction of my, well ... brass goggles.
Today at the Antique Shop near to my home I purchased  two gas masks

and a pair of brass chains (note the clasp i plan on using.)  They are of latex construction ( I have an old belt I can use for additional material) and I am thinking of making a band of the eye pieces, affixing this clasp between the them on the bridge of my nose, and using the leather belt to form either eye cups or purely decoratively to cover the latex band behind my head. Which would you suggest?

Re: A (minor) thread jack
Wherein i brag slightly about how I have just purchased these beauties...
But for purely practical reasons, I plan on using them to replace the ones i currently use for vehicle extrication / rescue operations.

Best regards, Your humble servant (for now), Baron Kolskegg Xothan Provisional Lord Governor of New Jersey (Southern Territories) of the Eastern Coast of the Northern Hemisphere of the New American Continent.

For some reason, I wish to follow up with a recent photograph or two of myself, although I'm not sure the success of such a venture after the ravishing beauty photographed above.

First, a larger version of my avatar (yes, this is from the dressing up thread...but it's not dressing up if one wears such clothing every day)

Who photographed me in my old clothing!? (My family wished for a "less formal" photograph)

'tis a tad blurry...and I look far better in a waistcoat!
