Mr Clockwork

Oooooh... Shiney.

As for creating clockwork mechanisms, how would one go about making a simple wind up mechanism, I've got some ideas, but I can't seem to find anything decent/detailed as to making them according to old style toys etc, like wind up cars, dolls, marching men and the like. I've got some ideas I'd like to put into action in the workshop, but would like to find some more ways to create movement.

I may have some info on clockwork drive in an old bopok I have around somewhere. Give me a bit to dig theorugh the back of the bookcase and see what I can find...

I did manage to find a diagram of an old Meccano #1 clockwork motor. Hopefully this will help..

Sweet! I like the new category.

The Master wristwatch thread is hiding in Off-Topic. I'll go link you to it, if you wish to rope it in over here.

Cheers!

Hmmm, would you mind terribly if I played a bit with that image for wallpaper purposes?

Hehe, I did it as soon as I saw the first post, didn't bother scrolling down to see your post.
Well incase you haven't done it yet, or anyone else would like it, I've cropped it a little and expanded it for a resolution of 1280x1024:
