And that's actually a fairly good likeness of Mr Vendigroth.

Buns are obviously not designed for their aerodynamic properties.

is it just me or does that look radioactive, not 'wow delicious'

I thought it had the "Quick! Stab it with a fork before it hatches and kills us all!" kind of look.

That's why in the picture Sir Nikolas has a fork, and not a spoon ;)

Now we need a picture drawn a few seconds later...with Sir Nik battling off a towering cake monstrosity....lol...

They make Utopia only half a dream."

"So he pulls an alternating-current taser on me and tells me that only the Official Serbian Church of Tesla can save my polyphase intrinsic electric field, known to non-engineers as 'the soul.' "

Nefthys

You should have seen the picture she drew next to that one. It was a pretty epic piece of a lady steampunk ghost hunter. Perhaps she could locate the evil spirits inside the cake?
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Good, you bring the hot oil, I'll get the gears!

Certainly!
I'll let you know if I end up colouring it.  Depends on today being a busy day or a boring day.

Great picture, but you can hardly see the detail when it's shrunk to an avatar (and I know what the original looks like!)

Here's a cropped/resized headshot that might serve until a color version comes down the pipe.

quite marvelous i would say however

As an aside, was there a 'crime scene cookie' to consume alongside the cake?  Because I would love to know what the author of the Virgin Atlantic complaint letter would make of it.  That cake is a darn sight more than 'A CRIME AGAINST BLOODY COOKING' I would submit.
Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.
