I'm just across the river on the Gateshead side.  ;)

*mulls over the options of Navy Rum, Whisky, brandy or Absinthe*  Hmmm - think I'll have a........Hennessy Fine de Cognac - and a Partagas Serie D No. 1 Limited Edition Maduro wrapper cigar (a very nice cigar indeed!), please!  *drools slightly at the mere thought of that cigar*

Been looking for this establishment for many years!

*Leans against the bar* "Barkeep, a double Redbreast Irish, if you please, neat."

Captain Lyerly

Ah, yes, a Partagas.  When I was seconded to Spain, I got in the habit of a Partagas about once a week - they get them there direct from Havana.  Now Cohibas just aren't what they used to be, Romeo y Julieta, Monte Cristos... good stuff, but no longer - up to snuff, as it were...

But yes, the Partagas - I liked the Doble Coronas.

And I think it is time for a good sherry to go with it.  I say, Captain Brandsson - you wouldn't happen to still have any left in that cask, would you?  You know, the Amontillado you got when it seemed that nobody but you and Montresor could even find the stuff?

Ah, yes - thanks, Cap'n!

Captain Brandsson

As I have yet to find either a dart board or billiard table that meets my standards, I am installing this game in the corner, for now.

Enjoy.

Another dram  of Bruichladdich x4, if you don't.. Perhaps a double.... (although at 184 proof, I may need some assistance finding my feet after a double, its not called The Perilous Whisky for naught. and yes, I've tried it IRL, smooth, but good lord, the heat...)

Cheers

Well, somebody has got to stay sober enough to help Harold find his feet... I hate it when he misplaces them like this!

Anyone familiar with Kingstone Press Cider? We have any about? I'm feeling nostalgic...
Well I've worked among the spitters and I've breathed the oily smoke
I've shovelled up the gypsum and it neigh 'on makes you choke
I've stood knee deep cyanide, got sick with a caustic burn
Been working rough, I've seen enough, to make your stomach turn

Sir A Poiselamppe

Time for the Evening snifter... Irish Whisky mac please, and a egg-nog for the Dodo...

Captain Lyerly

Hey, don't call me a... oh.  Haven't seen one of those since... Madagascar, it was...

Nice Dodo.

Cap'n Minty - didn't know you were an aficionado of Lamb's Navy Rum!  Great stuff, but I can't combine mine with Coca-Cola just yet.  I have a bottle of Lamb's ready to go at home, and I keep real, non-diet coke on hand for a particular celebration that I expect (and hope) will come soon.  Just waiting for medical confirmation from about 90 miles south of Key West, and I will celebrate and make - and drink! - that Cuba Libre.

Normally I would not cheer at what is usually a somber occasion, but this is one "bereavement" that has been eagerly anticipated for a long, long time.

Cheers!

Sir A Poiselamppe

Why thank you Captain...He is quite a handsome chap, gene resequencing is a little hobby I indulge in... Just can't get the wings correct though..

I forebear to ask... but have you been involved in a little freelance assassination again?

I'll have a gin and tonic to try to get "All along the Watchtower" out of my head. Your post's title has had it going for a bit now trying to come up with a good steam parody.

I have been enjoying the "Battlestar Galactica" version of "All Along the Watchtower", as of late.
