*Staggers in smoky and haggard. Gesticulates at waiter for alcohol, downs the glass and collapses into a stuporous sleep.

That looks like a rather tough day in the wild or laboratory.

Nothing so exotic sir, just the annual weekend out with the local gentleman's club which afterwards, almost by definition, requires the hair of the dog and a good rest up.

Ah, yes. It's obvious, come to think of it.

Mechanic

*having left unobtrusively some time ago, returns muttering about infernal french irregular verbs. Sits, waves for scotch and asks:*

What news on the markets? I have a few homonunculi to unload.

I'm not sure if you could call me a gentleman, but I do try to refrain from being rough. Most of the time. Is there a pint in the house?

Captian Jay

Sets down case of high end German spiced wine (Just purchased at a huge discount from a local retailer clearing their shelves.)

Lights a cigar and ponders...

Before electricity there was the study of magnetics and magnetic feilds. There are some specific terms used in magnetics such as 'The Tesla'... representing a flux density of one webber per square meter.  Then there is the aforementioned Webber...representing the total number of field lines crossing a given area. Etc.

As I'm dealing with very geary mechanisms, powerful magnets and robotic brains I'm wondering if I can find a book on Magnetics. I have a hunch that it would answer some questions I have about suspicious activities on the part of my beloved machines.
...I'm not lost, just on an unplanned expedition.

Mechanic

*staggers in, grabs bottle of whiskey form startled waiter and downs it in one go - collapses in the nearest convenient armchair.*

I appear to have a Japanese school girl lodged in my psyche!.....
