Very nice, although there should be a better term for it than a 'leather butt cover'     ;D

In more polite company, one can refer to it as a "buttstock" or "gunstock" cover.

Leather ass cover?

Otherwise One might readily make that misinterpretation of a  "leather glutious maximus cover"

Described on http://thehomegunsmith.com/firearm-archive.shtml as a zip gun. Possibly illegally produced. Reminiscent of the French Apache pistol.

Oh, there is absolutely nothing that is legal with that weapon!   :o

Looking at it again, in addition to being a poor gun, it is also a poor knuckle duster; the bolt would stick into your hand. So like the Apache pistol it fails on all counts, and succeeded only as a novelty piece.

Rolan_Kraps

Here is the Leather Stock Cover at about 90% complete.

I can't wait!

Rolan_Kraps

OK, the "Leather Stock Cover" has been completed. Now if I can get the Cerakoting finished, I'll be a happy man.

How is the "cheek weld"?

I have not picked it up yet.

The gun is at a different location so it will be a few weeks before I can test out the cheek weld.

I fell down the rabbit's hole last night and landed on a gentleman's pcp air rifle site- some of his hand-made
air rifle should count as steampunk I think:

OK,

I just dropped the wood fore arm pieces off at the hydro coating place.  2 week anticipated turn around.  It will transfer this pattern to the wood in front of the receiver.

Furthermore, since it fires from an open bolt, BATFE would probably classify it as a "machine gun" even though it is a single shot weapon with no magazine!

It wouldn't be the first time.  In the past, the BATFE has classified single shot, bolt action, lever action and pump action firearms as 'automatic' weapons.

And here we are.  The hand guards are still being hydro-dipped, but the rest is done.

Hello Rolan, loose the backdrop.
Although very appropriate it distracts from your fine specimen

Krel

Rolan, it looks good without the hand guards, certainly a different look to the weapon.  Kind of like the early Henry lever-action rifles.

David.

Rolan_Kraps

Thank you all.  Yes, the backdrop is too much.

I shot it in a match yesterday.  The magnets didn't survive the recoil, but I didn't think that they would.  I'll just use them for static display.
