Thank you very much for the leads, Mr. Fairbrass! If I have any other comments or info on frock coats should I attach it to an appropriate thread or start a new one?

A mod would need to answer that, but it is always useful to hear product reviews for these kind of shops. Particularly as they are often quite rare to find other than on their own websites.

Just for the record, I ordered something from her a year ago, towards the end of this thread's activity, unaware of the issue.  Although it was late, and she was indeed notoriously bad at replying to communications, to the point where I mentioned going to my credit card company and cancelling the payment, the coat did arrive no more than a month late and was really exactly as I wanted and of good quality.
So a mixed bag, but on the whole I was pleased as well as relieved.
Make of that what you will.

Absolutely fascinating -
out of the blue, thread necromancy is exercised by a unknown new netizen "Lewisian"
who obtained a login apparently for the sole purpose of making a single post
related to positive spin for a known miscreant....with fuzzy contradicting details:
- "ordered something"
- "ordered a year ago"
but... "no more than a month late"

this is remarkably remiscent of the single defensive post by the offender herself (and she never logged in again)
but at least it was not as long and convoluted.

please allow me to express my incredulity as to the veracity of our "new member"  "Lewisian"

I'm going to 'sticky' this thread for future informational purposes - not quite sure why it has not been done already...

Hi everybody, guys.

I'm just arrived here, so I'm new about the forum. I hope to be in the right place where to write this post.

I'm writing from Italy and I'm an Old West enthusiast. I'm planning to buy a couple of shirts from "Civil War Sutler" (https://www.civilwarsutler.co.uk/) and, because the expense would not be particularly cheap (first of all about the shipping costs to my country, but the prices of the items are very very good!), I would like to know if someone here has had experiences with this online store. I'm worried about the sizes (they are different from those of my country) and the fitting and the quality of the clothes.

I also did a long research to find UK stores where to buy Old West clothes but I just found one or two stores with higher prices than CWS (which has only US Army shirts, fine for civilians too but I wish I had a wider choice for civilian clothes).

Thank you for your patience and I hope this post is understandable (sorry if my english is bad).

Greetings!

Probably a good idea to read this thread very carefully & draw your own conclusions.

Hi Sludge! I read the topic before posting. I did see that the main comments are about 19th Century Tailoring/Sutlers Stores (http://www.sutlers.co.uk) while I'm asking about Civil War Sutler. I did also see that there is only one reference here about CWS (reply #7) and so I would like to know a little more :) What I learned from this thread, anyway, is not to buy from "19th Century Tailoring/Sutlers Stores" (it not even has what I'm searching for).

Thank you for your reply and for your "feedback" about my english.

:)

It's my understanding that they are the same company.  Don't hold me to that though, I could be wrong.

Anything here that would be any good to you?
