~spudnot~

I'm sorry to pose such an untimely inquiry, but I simply must know where to find these folder icons.  They are much better than I could ever make.

Nillerus

Ah splendid, a thread where I'll actually be ably to contribute something!

This is my rather minimalistic XP desktop, running RocketDock. The icons are not very steampunk, of that I am well aware, but I am a rather
big fan of garish comic-coloured icons.

The background was acquired at the most esteemed site of http://steampunkwallpaper.com, featured below running in Firefox 3, using the glowy theme.

My dual CRT's bear this little wonder of a desktop:

Yes, that's HAC's wallpaper of a watch movement.  I just love it.

I'm still trying to settle on a set of themes though, this red one went better with my darker, redder desktops.  Although many here have given me ideas.

Updated as often as practical.  Worth a visit.

figments

My new laptop uses vista and I doubt I will be able to get it back to XP. Is there any hope I can get any of the wonderful themes or skins to work on it???

Where'd you get those lovely icons for Linux?

So I'm having Zero luck with getting any themes installed, I keep betting the same error message.  I can't even get it to reset to my original XP silver theme now.  If one of you software wizards could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

You were wondrously helpful Daemon, I've got the Theme set now, and it looks very nice.  Thank you very much.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use that arcanum theme.

Any help here?

I have gotten  my desktop pretty well how I want it but I would like to change the skin on the Yahoo picture frame widget to  make it steamier. Or find another picture widget that has a steamy look to it. Any suggestions???  Thanks!!!

Preußischblau

This is my desktop right now. I may, when I get spare time, make a steampunk windowblinds or non-windowblinds visual style.

The wallpaper I made starting with a picture of the Z Machine. Using Oil Slick MSN skin (applied via Messenger Plus), Unison Winamp skin, and the Refined Wood visual style that mentionned by KhaiJBach. The RocketDock skin is the same one that KhaiJBach uses too, and the icons are of the British Library set.
I wish I could run Yahoo widgets, but my computer doesn't seem to be up to running it at speeds I like.

Good god that's awesome, Preußischblau!
Thank you kindly, Magister! It was much more enjoyable than the essay I was supposed to be working on...

Here is my desktop:  Mac OSX With custome Theme (Photopro) by Palli Svansson and Custom desktop by me.  Originally I had just the wood but i wanted to create something with pictures of my family.  Nice yes?

SteamPunk Folder! :-D

~spudnot~
Where did you get the images for the file folders, and do you mind sharing?
Normal is something we've invented to keep out the demons and Gods and magic and monsters that live just on the other side of the "normal' world we've built for ourselves.

Cornwallis

Yes, I too would like to know the source of these beautiful folder icons.
