Unk,
I've loaded a machine with Windows 10 Technical Preview 64bit.
I'm going to try and see if your gizmos work on it.

Unk,
This is on the Windows 10 64 bit Technical Preview.
So far your widgets seem to be working.

yereverluvinunclebert

That's really appreciated. Please test whatever you can. There is no reason why the widgets should not work but some minor functionality might be affected and it would be good to know which. Microsoft seems to be going for an decreased time between releases and it means that we will have to undergo an upgrade and all that entails far more often (painful).

There are lots to test!

Unk,
Yes there are lots to test.   :o  ;D
The Windows 10 Technical Preview I'm using is the 64 bit version.
I've got it loaded on an early Vista machine (AMD Athlon 64 3800 processor)
The machine had Vista Basic 32 bit version factory installed, and even with a clean install was real slow as far as doing anything.
The 64 bit version of Windows 10 has sped it up quite a bit.
I did however upgrade the video to an Asus GT545 from the motherboards onboard 6100 graphics.
I'm also running 4 gigs of ram. (the most the old board will accept)

I'm going to see what it will do with a quad core (3 gig) and more ram (8 gig) on a slightly newer motherboard (faster chipset)
If it shows the same type of improvement, Microsoft might just have a winner with 10.

There are a few bugs with the Technical Preview, but that's why Microsoft lets us play with the beta releases.  ::)

I'll let you have any of the newer versions as I update them. It is an interesting challenge you have there.

Unk,
I'll be on your site a little later to get some more. :D
So far the only one I haven't been able to get to load is the Windows 7 Desktop Theme.

I'll try posting a screenshot when I get more of them loaded.
I'll also post a list of what works, and what doesn't.
(Of course Microsoft could change something, as this is beta test software.)

Unk,
Is there a link to the new Temperature Widget?
I believe I got the original from your website.
It comes up rather small on W10, I have the size slider all the way up.

I've tried almost everything except the nixie widgets so far, and most seem to work. ( I'm learning what they do as I go :-\)

I'm going to load the W10 TP on better hardware so I can get more functionality from your widgets.
(I'm not getting near the amount of gauges I would like :-[, but I'm running it on an early Vista machine.  :-\)
I'll be loading it on my quad core hardware hopefully sometime today. ;D

Jupiter Planetary Desktop Widget and Icon MkIII

This is the latest version of a widget that you could certainly use on your Windows/Mac desktop. It is a lovely piece of eye-candy as well as being useful useful in a "War of the Worlds" styled theme. This is one of a small set of icons/widgets for your desktop, the others are the 'God of War', the planet Mars, Saturn and of course, the Earth.

The image shown above shows the Jupiter Planetary Desktop Widget in locking mode with the locking interplanetary bathysphere in place.

Updated Magnifier Widget and Icons

Double-clicking on a widget will cause a personalised Windows/Mac application to fire up. The first time you run it there will be no assigned function and so it will state as such - then it will pop up the preferences so that you can enter the command of your choice. The widget takes command line-style commands for windows or Mac OS/X.

Updated, lockable, menus and licence stuff, really only for XP though with a bit of config it will work on NT6 systems. The Xwidget version is better for Vista, 7, 8 and 10.

Unk,
I've been playing!

I've got some learning to do.

Is it possible to get the Net gauge to work with a hard wired connection?

yereverluvinunclebert

#996
That's very nice.

The network gauges at the moment only work with wireless as the signal is progressive from 0-100% and a gauge suits it. A wired network is either on or off so it would perhaps suit a bulb or valve either glowing or turned off, to indicate the network state.

I am working on a new widget, a steampunk file manager widget. It has four status/indicating bulbs, which may be usable as wireless/network indicators.

The widget is only in alpha stage so is not downloadable yet, it won't be around for a while as I am not working on it 100%. Life.

My latest desktop screenshot.  ::)  ;D

I created the wallpaper using GIMP.
The artwork is by IllustratorG on DA.
The Rainmeter skins are by Mordasius, also on DA.

This is a demo showing how the Steampunk Nixie Tube Widget looks on a Windows 8 tablet. Bear in mind that this is a 7" tablet, more of a phone size format than a standard Windows desktop.

The tablet is a Linx 32gb tablet with 4 cores each capable of running at 1.8ghz in boost mode. This is more than capable of running Windows 8 very quickly. The above screenshot shows the o/s running in desktop landscape mode.

The tablet cost a mere £59.99 and was cheap enough to warrant an immediate purchase for the testing use alone. It is my windows 8.1 testbed.

Who would have thought just a few years ago that you could purchase a windows 8.1 PC for £59.99? With a bluetooth mouse and keyboard it is actually a usable system.

I am now tweaking the widgets to run in Windows 8 in landscape/portrait modes. They seem to work in this larger form on a smaller format device looking like phone-style widgets rather than desktop widgets.

Very COOL Unk!  ;D

I tried moving SpeedFan like you explained, same results.  :(

It appears to be a problem with the way the Yahoo Widget Engine works with SpeedFan in W10.  :-\

So, I decided to try my hand at a Rainmeter skin for Temperature Monitoring.  ::)

I'll post my results shortly.  :D
