Yes you heard right two together.  It's all part of a very large prop but let me explain firstly it's not supposed to be able to shoot anything it's more that the gun part is supposed to some how power the blade as a steam powered aspect as some sort of force applying method IE you shoot it uses the recoil to push the blade then skips to the next round the gun will be a very large revolver. The blade will be around four feet and a half feet long. Something about like Cloud from FFVII. What I'm really trying to figure out is how to conceptualize the system or if anyone has ever seen anything like it before. I've done some drawings and the gun itself is mostly complete I'll be starting on the sword blade soon then it's all down to the mechanics, I'm going for a Steampunk with a anime flare to it I've taken a lot of effort to detail on this peace to make it appear photo real despite the materials it even revolves when you pull the trigger. Soon I'll be doing all the details of adding metal work to it and leather touches to give it a sense of function. So what I'm really looking for is ideas and impute. I've got to finish this in two months. It shouldn't take more then two weeks. The character I'm playing as will be very very large standing a easily six six while hunched over. Oh and the sword will be able to attach to my back when I'm not using it because the blade will be made out of closed cell foam for light weight and any piping on it will be fish hose I'll use a silt running down it so it just slides and clips into place easily. Overall I don't expect it to weigh more then a few pounds.

One minor note this is an Asian style Steampunk the reason I'm using swords is because as you may well be aware it was outlawed for many years in Japan the use of firearms despite there widespread use in western Europe. This weapon is sort of a throw back technologically as it will be part of a Steampunk Samurai outfit and I thought it only fitting that I should not use the gun as a direct means of contact (purely speculatively of-course). The Gun is simply to amplify the swordsman's natural skill of the draw or something like that haha.

Can the admin over this forum move this up one category I went down too many levels by mistake when I posted this.

Perhaps the "gun" component could function along the same idea as the Coffman starter.

Greetings all!  Long time lurker, first time poster.

The weapon you are looking for has been created in various styles and sizes in the past.  Coincidentally, I was strolling around my local maritime museum yesterday and happen to see a Bowie-knife pistol used by the U.S. Navy in the mid-1800's predominately during the South Seas Exploring Expedition of the time.  That may be a bit small for your fellow, but there are many other types out there to pique your imagination.  Try here to get a few more ideas.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Welcome to the forum sirs. Id say the best way to receive input would be to present us with some sort of visual representation of the project.
