'Electrical' problem; converting toggle to 'impulse'?

E.g. toggle a switch to 'On' and then some thingamajig prevents that the signal is send continuously?

The thought occurs to me that, depending on the circuit driving it, a large capacitor in series with the switch in your circuit may be enough by itself to give the initial 'impulse' but not a continuous DC operation.
You may have to try various sizes.     Too small and you wont get a signal large enough to be detected, too large and it will give the output signal for too long.
