They just might come in handy for a *ahem* future mission...

You can have mine too! No way I'll ever do something like that again!

I don't want to contradict the GM, but I had intended to bring Handthorpe back to the Marigold. I can edit my posts to reflect that I left him aboard the Dagger if that would be preferable.

I promise to drop him over the side after I'm done with him! I just wanted to search his body more thoroughly.
"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

OoOpS... my bad. Not sure what to do about that post, though. I guess it'll just be the end of teh dagger, then. whatever, I'll just repurpose it, and you can search and dispose fo Handthorpe.

Will do. Glad we got things straightened out. I'm very easy about all this; you've let us take some incredible initiative, so feel free to reign things in wherever you need to.

Not at all, you've all exhibited remarkable self-governance.

Gotta go run off the day's blood sugar. Not sure if I have a jam session tonight or not; back on later in any case.

So I'm basically not aboard the Marigold and am essentially falling through the air with no way of reaching her.

Looks like a job for reburn's piloting and starling's crazy flying.

If you feel better that way... ;)

I keep thinking, this forum needs a chat for roleplaying. In our RP community we used both, forum for "storylike" plots and chat for direct interaction (that usually got transformed into a forum story afterwards). We had an IRC server with some permanent rooms like a tavern for example plus we could set up our own rooms the way we needed them.
- and yes, we did use that for various shenanigans too, but mostly for actual RP.

Oh there's always a way. Corsair, always. I expect right now you're being harried by Stormtrooper Scouts as you plummet, each one Jetpack filled gift.

Evelyn Adler

Creative!
Where there's a will, there's a free wingpack!  ;D

You also have starling with a big honking gun who still looks like a freshly turned greenie to make them give you a pack.

Or you could do that :D

Awesome!

EDIT: Sorry to vanish early.  I've got a rather early start tomorrow. Try not to blow up any more airships whilst I'm gone :D

Stella Gaslight

I figured you two could have a very tender moment as you patch her up while starling does her fearless jungle girl thing.

Interestingly enough I had already written the part about going past the bridge window before your post went in. I only added the last paragraph on when I saw your post.

It has turned into a bit of a romance hasn't it? Dammit, we're Victorians! Technically the spent a good amount of time shooting people WITHOUT a chaperone! Oh the scandal!

We shall have to pick up in a few hours sadly.  I've got to fly to the other end of the country in 5 hours, okay so the other end of the country isn't far away, but still. I should probably get some sleep before I do that. I'll be back posting when I'm less unconscious or airborne (a bit like Issa)

Evelyn Adler

I did mention that Issa has a father (who taught her how to shoot) AND three brothers, who are probably already on their way to force Hawthorne at gunpoint to marry her? While her poor mother falls from swoon to fainting and back.
Shooting people unchaperoned, oh the scandal!

Yes. Romance. Sorry 'bout that!
Ok, that was a lie!  :)

I'll wait with that tender moment, until Monsieur is no longer zipping across the country. Romance is much easier, when there are actually two people involved, or so I've heard.

Well, looks like Rourke's gonna be darning his socks (or having them fall in and darn themselves) instead of having a romance. *sniff* Oh, well...

Starling is in over her head I think.  I figured the wing packs were not made for two people at once.

And Joe is meant to be good at 'quick fix' things. It didn't seem like a massively clever fix though, but I'm guessing he'll get opportunities for genius in the future...

Not to throw a wrench in things, because I do enjoy the way Starling saved Rooney, but my love of consistency demands I point out that Rourke had already saved Rooney

QuoteRourke grabbed the unconscious Joe, and ran like the devil was biting his posterior, toward a cavernous void left in the airfield by another of the gasbags' collapse. "THERE's NO TOIME, LETS GO! THESE THINGS 'AVE TER GLIDE AFORE THEY CAN FLY," he shouted to the others while frantically yanking the pullcord and thus Whupping the tiny petrol motor into full-bore operation; he then literally leaped out into the airy nothingness, and prayed like a vicar as he, Joe, and the wingpack plummetted like a stone into the void...

...And rose again like a fat, ungainly phoenix at the far side of teh void, streaking toward the Marigold.

We've edited posts before, so I know it will be worked out, but someone reading it might get confused as to why Rooney suddenly goes from being carried onto the Marigold to being back on the Dagger and then falling.

I wonder of joe who was still dazed tried to take out a paratrooper on his own forgetting he did not have wings any more,

It seems I was written in to two places at once.

In these cases, we fall back on to whatever the character's 'owner' has written. We can alter Bailey's post when he's back on.

Sorry for missing that post in the first place

Not a problem at all; this is a very active thread and Bailey was just trying to keep things moving. I'm all for going with the exploits you wrote for your own character, and I think Bailey will feel the same way.
