Well then its a good thing I brought it up. Thank you gentlemen.
I quite agree with everyone else.  The waistcoat and hat are just smashing!  Very handsome, Mr. West.

I was wondering where this thread went, and now I have found it again.
Good to see such smashing outfits.

Well, heres my attempt (sorry for the poor photo quality).

I've never had much success with dressing up and  thought about starting a new thread asking for advice, as I'm not sure if the outfit 'works' or if I just look silly. So any tips or suggestions from the experts would be most welcome. Just about everything is replacable except the vest. It was a present and I doubt I could afford a new one.

First try eh? Nice job!

I'll add a few additional accessories later. The cravat is also just a scrap of cloth until I can order a proper one.

Mad Maudlin

I'm not sure if this, being cosplay, is all right, but it has a frock coat and cravat, so here I am as Roderich Edelstein, anthropomorphic personification of Austria, from Hetalia.

You look fantastic! it never occured to me to use Hetalia as an inspirational piece (as if i need another excuse to watch it again) :)

Told that i look like a victorian teacher.....kinda proud of that :)

Mad Maudlin

Hey, it spans history, why not go into alternate? I've seen some amazing fanart.
Same coat, same Maudlin, decidedly different underthings and accessories: Maudlin et un beau soldat au Exposition Mondiale du Vapeur 2011.

Summery outfit down by the railway line - trousers are a thin linen, linen shirt with wing collar, tropical weight wool frock coat, silk cravat, silk waistcoat.
With his stovepipe hat and his drainpipe trousers he was a credit to his ironmonger.

Very nice, Mr. Pete!  I've been trying to create more of a summer-weight outfit as well - difficult to do with corsets, though.  :)

If I'm not mistaken, that is a reproduction of Lucius Malfoy's Wand Cane.

Yes it is Lucius Malfoys Cane although when i brought it through the Airport the security never even gave it a single look and yet the fangs on it are rather sharp and could easily cause severe damage if i were so inclined

Excellent work everybody. I'm following this one for a while until I get an outfit picture to go up here.

Is this the Empires version of Abe Lincon with a Gatling Gun Arm? Queen Victoria with a BGF :)

Awesome job! Have fun at the Exhibition; I'm hoping to make it to the next one (assuming there is a next one!).
"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."
