Robinson's barley water
Rose's lime juice
Pimm's No. 1 cup (of course)

I was working my way through this thread to see if Rose's Lime Juice had been mentioned, and was glad to see that it was one of the early mentions.

There has been one major change though - it is now sold in LITRE BOTTLES!

UK/Empire:-

Denny & Sons Est.1820.

Not to be confused with with burger places.

Did you have Denny's diners in the UK? I just jumped to the wiki page and I had no clue they had expanded so far around the world. I regard it as a "moribund but never dying" kind of business, like Best Buy and Sears.

I've never seen or heard of a Denny's Diner in the UK. Still, though, one might exist.

Sometimes corporations open shops in different countries just to have a presence. I think there are 4 shops in Mexico, which basically is nothing. I don't think they could compete with another American-Diner styled chain called ViPS which also offers some local fare. American style food is very normal,  ie generic, in Mexico too, but the food is seen as commercial 20th century food, and the cultural meaning of the American Diner is often lost in the translation.

Oh...my old war wound? I got that at The Battle of Dorking. Very nasty affair that was, I can tell you.

US list:-

Pearl Milling Company Est.1889
Strictly speaking, this is a renaming (or perhaps a re-renaming) of a company that should already be on the list. Also, according to their timeline, Pearl Milling was founded in 1888; the Aunt Jemima brand dates to 1889.

EDIT: CBC's Under The Influence did an episode on brands forced to change with the times. I hope people outside Canada can listen to it.

Indeed, it only warrants an update of the original title (Aunt Jemima), and change to the new name Pearl Milling Company, because it was the original factory name in 1888, but the Aunt Jemima brand itself is dead.

Has anyone submitted Good & Plenty candy to this list?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_%26_Plenty

The candy is little pieces of licorice rope coated in some variation of jordan almond coating that tastes like soap. It's been around since 1893 and is the oldest extant candy brand in the United States, and possibly the worst candy in the world to survive that long. (review based on 45 year old childhood memory)

Noted for the list with a warning sign for disgusting flavor.

There are always some brands that make me question humankind. It's the equivalent of Fresca or Mr. Pibb.. Fresca, if I understand is still sold. The issue with the original American Fresca is not that it's grapefruit flavored, but rather that it's sweetened with artificial sweeteners, resulting in a disgusting bitter flavor when combined with grapefruit, which I imagine is similar to drinking bile.

I used to like Fresca when it was sweetened with sodium saccharine. The new Aspartame stuff is disgusting. Mr Pibb remains an unsubstantiated rumour.

What do you mean? It never went to Canada? If so, then good! By all means, keep it a rumour! Only God know how Coca-Cola ever thought that Mr Pibb could possibly compete with Dr Pepper. And they're still trying after all these decades (They know it in Japan as "Pibb San" )!

Arva Flour Mill, near London, ON, was established in 1819 and is the oldest continuously-operating flour mill in North America, as well as the sixth-oldest business in Canada. After four generations in the same family, it was just sold; the new owner has committed to keeping it operating as well as possibly opening a winery on the property.
