If I may be pardoned for joining this latest game belatedly (Under the auspices of the Houghton-Mifflin Misapplied Undergarment clause), I should like to do so at Deptford Bridge.
Walk softly and carry a big banjo...

Vox Cerae

Perfectly acceptable to join a game late, however you must honor the sister clause, Newman-Bridges, and play as if a bum has challenged you to a game of Reversi. Sorry.. it's the rules.  :(

Now, for my move, I will head for South Harrow. Yes, yes, counter-productive though it may seem, the thorough defeat of many players takes a bit of preperation.
I must reparate: Nothing morally decent happens after midnight.

Newchurch

Counter-productive?  Why, not at all!  I'm sure you see why.

Swiss Cottage

(And MWBailey; a very elegant deployment of the Houghton-Mifflin Misapplied Undergarment!)

Marco

After staying with a friend (still had to avoid shunt), I can only deploy the Effing-Barkley method and pay a mauve token to get to Moorgate.

Kew Gardens - what more need be said !!!

Only just now arriving at Greenwich, as the Bum and I played to a draw and stepped out briefly for a lager, a la the notorious Inverted Fandango gambit.

Oh I say!

I've just realised that I've been an absolute fool!  I could have gone directly to a station between Euston and Campden Town, but I didn't spot it, and now you blighters have gone and Perivaled me.

Surely I can only now play Waterloo, but I've got to go on to Southampton Docks, and from there to Cowes on the Isle of Wight Ferry, and must return through Portsmouth.

I've got a ticket to Ryde, but I do care.

Blast you!

Vox Cerae

A quick skip to Sudbury Hill. I've put both turquoise tokens onto the seven of hearts and turn twice widdershins.
I must reparate: Nothing morally decent happens after midnight.

Countering Vox Cerae ..... I shall turn twice deosil, cast a puce token to the gods of steam and stagger to Tower Hill

I roll a d10 confusion roll, and arrive at Elephant and Castle.
I made a note in my diary on the way over here. Simply says; "Bugger!"

bassspine

aha! That's a nice line you've marked out: Embankment!
Bwahahaha! They called me mad! MAD! But with my cross-dimensional time-fez I'll show them!!!!! hehehehe!!

Moving sideways ...... Sloane Square

Turning the map inside out and then back again gets me to... Trafalgar Square

Marble Arch is for the taking. I set my remaining pieces in Knight's Cross formation.

I've been away a while, and I think I'll sit and watch and wait for the next game - at least for now. I never was much good at Othello and I'm not sure I want to play with a bum's grimy tiles. ;)

In order to counter Vox Cerae's knights cross formulation I'll play my remaining cerise token and loop back to Lancaster Gate to create a box square takeback.
With the spare time, I shall pause for a cup of tea and a sticky bun  ;D

I play Wanstead, and hope that you will forgive my lateness if I play a taupe token, inherited from a great grandmother.

Why of course you are forgiven dear lady. (well it was a taupe token after all!!!)
Now then ....... Where was I ?
Ahhhh yes.
Clifford, be a good chap and stop stroking that beagle! The steam pressure has dropped dangerously low. Come along man ....... sort it out !
We're off to Great Portland Street

Dollis Hill. Dollis Hill. Dollis Hill. I can't believe none of you have thought of it! With a lump of coal in the shape of Samuel Colt's head, I merrily make way.

Ooooohhh. I once fell into that trap.
You have placed yourself (albeit unwittingly) in the Dollis Hill loop !
Although the 1904 revision of the Ancient & Modern ruleset allows for temporal shifts, I think you find that moving to Dollis Hill renders you incapable of moving until another player visits Chancery Lane wearing a purple cassock and exclaiming "god save the queen".....in latin.... backwards.

Chairthing ....... might we trouble you for a ruling ?

Meanwhile ........ Goodge Street

If someone would be kind enough to hold my parasol, I am going to hop skip and jump to Liverpool Street, gaining a gold token for athletic merit.

Technically, once one player falls into a D****s H**l Loop, all other players must follow suit.  However, under the 1899 and 1904 rulesets, as you say, someone is allowed to move to Chancery Lane to recite the national anthem widdershins in Latin.  Or is it Coptic?  I forget.

Under the 1917 ruleset a D****s H**l Loop can also be broken by the simple expedient of a Zeppelin raid... but that might be going a bit far in this instance.

So; this leaves us with only the 1883 Fowler vs Watkins dispute resolution; which is to call at a station on the D****s H**l line which is also a junction with at least four other lines.  Oh, and Vox Cerea?  For wilfully setting up a DH loop you now have to clean MC's public conveniences, with your toothbrush, when we get there.
Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

Newchurch

I believe I am no longer Perivaled?  Does that help?  I rather suspect it may worsen the situation.

Vox Cerae

Ah, luckily enough for me, I happened to be carrying exactly 3 pence worth of barley. As you know, Prime-Crop law still applies. While I can no longer move north during daylight hours, the game is still strong!

Queensway.

Vox Cerae !!!
a crafty little move that one!
