hate this tablet.....

Safari Web Browser? I had similar problems with an old iPod Touch which could not go past iOS 4. You could get another browser for the tablet if it still can accept it (i.e Mango for iOS). In Android it's much easier to fix the problem, as you have Mozilla, Chrome (defualt) and many others... I don't have problems with my $50 Walmart bought RCA tablet  . The $50 LG Phone is even better!

A bit different rom what people are showing in this thread, but would anyone here care to live in a chateu+Disney castle hybrid villa?

A luxury development company in Turkey has gone belly-up, and they abandoned a $200 million development in Northwestern Turkey. Each house was planned to sell for half a million dollars, but they were never finished as the whole development was abandoned last year.

The good news? The houses would sell cheap, much lower than $400k-500k price tag (which is about half or maybe 1/3 as expensive if not less compared to US prices for that size home). The homes - if I use the US as a reference - have an amount of facade  stonework worthy of a much bigger house in the range of $1-5 million in the US (I know what I'm saying, I used to have a company selling precisely that kind of exterior finishes). The bad news is that the development is not finished, and the style is gaudy, mixing a French chateu style with Disney-style Germanic turrets.

Given the choice, I'd prefer the houses with the thin rectangular turret in the lower picture. I can actually see such a home in Mexico City (there are a few homes like that downtown). I'm not too fond of the conical towers. And the place would look half decent if it was not surrounded by 10000 identical copies so close to each other the neighborhood looks like a fractal.

I agree, J. Wilhelm, they would look better in solitary splendour, and I'm not a real fan of the French Chateau look at the best of times - en masse they do look just a little bit tacky! If the developers had given them an acre each it would have been better - five acres even better! I don't think castles such as these would have an effective defence against an angry, torch & pitchfork wielding midnight mob!

Indeed. The construction method can be seen in the upper picture. It's all steel rebar reinforced concrete frame with non structural cinder block (concrete), not used so much for residential in the US, but commonplace in Mexico. I'm going to guess they have placed stucco on top of the concrete blocks either pre-coloured or painted beige to match the stone in between decorative limestone moulding. The cream coloured stone needs more contrast, the wall could be white or a light shade of brown or gray, to compliment the roof. A garden patio with a fence is a must.

Then it'd approximate a Victorian Neo Gothic house. Shame one can't just order one to be shipped by mail

Somewhere in my library I have a catalogue for mail order houses, late 19th early 20th century, mostly timber, all American, mostly neo-gothic revival! There are some I wouldn't mind modifying into a turreted tower house!

I'm sure some of the top rooms have some horrible, undescribable geometry, and at night you can see a strange light coming out of the attic windows. There are also some rumours of a small rodent-like creature that locals call "Castaño Jiménez" living in the attic.  After one of the tenants mysteriously disappeared, housekeepres found some odd and small Piñata-shaped ornaments made from an unknown metallic subtance.

Click on the satellite view. The demolished foundations and the partially demolished building directly to the east (scroll right) are purportedly what remains of the Plymouth Locomotive Works, which used to make small gasoline powered locomotives of the type used in train yards.

I did a quick search for "Plymouth Locomotive Works ruins" and got nothing; just articles and photos about the product. Does anyone know of any media relating to the destroyed industrial facility?

Google Maps doesn't even have street views from the two streets close by. The Google copyright reads 2010. In 8 years they may have dismantled the whole thing? Unless we have any local Steampunks in the forum, I doubt we canget any more info.
