Lovely. Though my favourite Marais piece is this one:

Spoiler: ShowHide
which I first heard thanks to the Revillos, by way of John Peel. :)
I speak in syllabubbles. They rise to the surface by the force of levity and pop out of my mouth unneeded and unheeded.
Cry "Have at!" and let's lick the togs of Waugh!
Arsed not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for tea.

Ahhh. Love the viol music. I once considered building a sub contra bass viol and learning to pay it, but the folks refused to share a house with it. Now they get to hear me screech on a fiddle. Life is funny that way, I've noticed.

Anyway, here's one of my personal favorites.

Today I am listening to 'Old Punk' not 'Steampunk'.
It's 'Ziezo' the latest, and apparently last, studio album by 'UK Subs'.
The band formed in 1976 and now, 40 years later, they have achieved their aim of recording one album with a title beginning with every letter of the alphabet.
It started with 'Another Kind Of Blues' released in 1979.
Now they've reached 'Z'.

Singer Charlie Harper was born on 25th May 1944 (that's before 'D-Day' folks) and when the band formed he was already 32 years of age, a veteran of the London R&B scene, and considered to be 'past it' by many.
Next month Charlie will be 72.
They still perform between 150 and 200 live shows EVERY year.
The legs have fallen off my Victorian Lady...

I've got that on the flash drive I listen to in my van.  Great track.

Forty years ago today the first Ramones album came out. I got it as soon as it arrived over here on import on a Friday and listened to it almost non-stop for the rest of the weekend, just flipping the album over and over as each side ended.

Happy days...

Don't get me wrong, I love Bossa Nova and Astrud Gilberto (which is why I was listening to this in the first place), but this short had me rolling on the floor for a while  ;D
