I'm posting this video from a live concert in 2019, because it's very cool to see Robert Smith and his band and the reaction of this multigenerational crowd.

Bargain bin at the used bookstore yielded me a compilation CD of railroad-related songs, and it's kinda of funny - not in a ha ha way, mind. Light, cheerful bluegrass music...about hobos, wrecks, death, lost loves, and the price of progress. Ah, tonal whiplash once you start paying attention to the lyrics.
In all fairness, some of those who wander are definitely lost.
Please be patient with me, I am from the 1900s.

I once heard someone explain that life in the Appalachian mountains was so hard that all of their songs about life were sad and all of their songs about death were happy.
