That's impressive! Could I ask what tools you used? I've just gotten an iPad and Apple pencil and am trying to learn to draw on not-paper.

Thanks! I used an Intuos Pro tablet and my drawing program of choice is FireAlpaca, the software is free and easy to use. When getting into tablet drawing you will have to develop a feel for moving your hand while lookinrg at a screen instead of at your hand, this can take some practice so don't be discouraged if your first digital works aren't as good as you want them to be!

This was a Christmas present for my mother, it's a copy of an original oil painting of my Great-Great-Grandmother Isobella. All I had to work with was a very small poor quality picture taken on an old "flip phone" (by an elderly relative, and current owner of the original...). Unfortunately I don't have a much better image of my finished painting either, I took this just after I finished framing it, and the glass is catching all sorts of reflections. Also this was taken on my phone,   :-\

However, it's not too bad considering it's my FIRST ever attempt at a portrait.  ;D

Painting is a mix of oils and acrylic (I swapped to acrylics due to time factor) and is a bit over A3 size (had to get a custom frame made).
