Well.... yes. Decided to be merciful-- she doesn't have to carry them around any longer than necessary ;-) Hope that's alright. Feel free to elaborate on their personalities, Whiskers' thoughts...., etc....

and good idea, btw.

Sorry mate, I've been having a bit of writer's block.

I was thinking that instead of a big summer festival, the town just has an informal fireworks display for 4th of july? Picnics during the day, and fireworks at night (Though Sir Whiskers and the other cats won't like the loud noise).

Rose Inverness

That's where inventors come in handy... anyone think of a way to invent silent, fire-free fireworks?  ;)

Yes.... entire purpose defeated perhaps.

Low key sounds good. I like picnics! :)

Don't worry! The Aquos family is coming back!

Rose Inverness

Yay. I frequently think about how wondrous this story could be as a novel/novelette. To do that we'd need everyone's permission though.

Back, in a manner of speaking, for a bit.

Starbridge is going to send a message interdimensionally (via a certain device, that will utilize that weird hatchway in the barn) to Soelle and Moxon.

Huzzah!!!

By the by, shall we begin the voting on names for this year's winter carnival? And making plans for it to be spectacular? I greatly look forward to what we come up with!!!

If you go back to the first page of Steamtown and search for November 25 you will find the beginnings of our discussion about that!

Unfortunately, Snowfair is disqualified for this year as a name for voting on, but 'Fish for Whiskers' may be back on the docket, depending on what the cats propose. I personally would still like to see 'The Solstice and Stars Festival'.

I've gone through the story thread and recorded the approximate dates of several important town holidays, or at least ones we've made a point to mention/celebrate/forget until too late to celebrate... possibly we could stick this list to the front page of this thread so we have a helpful reminder and know where to find out about events? Or to the top of the story thread?

Well, Jessica's birthday is November 15th. Her and Gareth's wedding anniversary is March 15th. I kinda forgot these as I was playing through until Rose made up a calendar for us all.

I figure we'd best start voting on the Name for the Winter fair now.

MWBailey

Solstice Frolic?

Snowball Madness (sorry)

Ok, Stormcat do you have any suggestions?

I think 'SnowWolf Festival' is also up for offer, by Gilbert. I will post a 'town meeting' thingummie like last year's when we have all suggestions in. Or someone else can.

Ok!! Here is our method from last year with the wording made more direct. As well I have altered the timing, as we are rather short on time.
Spoiler: ShowHide

  • Write the numbers in the order you'd prefer that name (if 'ham for cats' was my favorite choice I would write #5 first).
  • Post it at 7pm EST tomorrow or as close to that time as you can.
  • The most popular # will win. If there is a tie or if I don't hear from you in time, I will roll a die to choose between these numbers.

1 Solstice and Stars Festival
2 Solstice Frolic
3 Snowball Madness
4 SnowWolf Festival
5 Ham for Cats
6 Jolly Christmas

My favorites are 1, 2, 3. In that order.

Rose Inverness

How very silly of me to set the time and NOT vote on time. Sorry, I am still on central European time... and going to bed QUITE early by EST's clock.

My choices:

I'll vote, since perhaps I'm not quite so persona non grata as a I thought I was elsewhere:

3, 2, 1, 4, 6

Hut! Hut! (sorry ;))

HUZZAH for the Solstice & Stars Festival!!!  :-D
Looking forward to seeing what wintry things you all write about  :D
Lol, sorry if I was acting drill-sergeanty. I'll try to take it down a notch.  ::)
Hmm... definitely hope you feel welcome here? Maybe I don't understand that phrase 'persona non grata'.
Also, I will not write any more posts with navy 'glow', just wanted to celebrate with something starry-looking!

Perfecty welcome, thanks.

Had a swordplay incident (difference of opinion) with another player in a different RP on here; I  tend to expect the worst in such cases, so sometimes I overestimate the fallout. Anyway, it looks like I night survive, for a while (knock on the nearest facsimile to wood), So I'm back in on this one.
