My twisted sense of humor is telling me that Reid should stumble into the conversation with the gargoyle, and speak his language fluently....  (while drunk).....   but not be able to remember any of it after he sobers up.....   pointless and sidetracking as it would be...  it just sounds funny in my head.

I think what the gargoyle was saying is there is a pretender to the metal stone.  Or someone thinls they are king Arthur and is useing the ravens.  Whether or he is on his own or not is up for debate.

Celia has some of her own nasty dealing with the fae.  She didn't exactly get Toby fairly. The goblins wanted more than she could give so she pretended to be there on behalf of the winter court to bring the boy back.  And they went for it because no one wants to be on mabs bad side.

I wonder about the young man dressed as a guard at the tower who was so angry.  We've mentioned tunnels and Reid's cursed family included a berserker who hid underground when he became a creature of rage. Any connection?

I had thought he was the soldier with the strings on his hands and wrists.  A puppet for the Morrigan. Stella had mentioned her using a mortal tricking him to thinking he was the next Arther.  I sorta thought he was in the right place at the right time to be her minion.

But that was just where I saw it possibly going.  Like,I told Stella, I dont want to over step when,I toss stuff out there.

I thought someone was trying to enslave the Morrigan, because she isn't inherently evil.

So many ways it can go.   She may not be evil, but she might be upset with Celia.   Or Reid.... Or...  Or....
Besides, maybe the kid tried,to use her, and she reversed it on him, and is using his plot to her purpose.  He would still register as a puppet.

No but she is really powerful and can be very brutal when you get on her bad side.  All the fae don't really play by mortal rules and can be very tricky.  And the winter court can get away with more because they balance out the softness of the summer court.  Now during Arthur's time there were fewer rules that had been worked in to magic so she was a real terror and things were more black and white.  I think in this setting as far as magic goes the longer humans are around the more complicated things get.  I think both Celia and Reid are worried because they have both crossed her in the past and she has every right to take what is hers.

What Celia is doing is calling on the city to help  It is sort of what she gets in exchange for serving it.  All the normal people and some of the normal magic is going to act like she isn't there and allow her to go wherever she wants. I believe that someone is trying to enslave The Morrigan and to use The Irregulars as a distraction because at least three of their number (Celia,Toby, Reid) are people she could have a grudge against and/or use for. 

Beety has contacts in various places mainly because she is old enough to remember stuff that has generally been forgotten.  Even so, she's not old enough to know exactly what the non human part of her ancestry is.

I think it could be interesting if the group have to simultaneously battle The Morrigan and save her.
