from Batman: Gotham by Gaslight (featuring a SURPRISE Jack the Ripper), a steampunk batcycle...

between the extended wheelbase, the 1/2 ton weight and especially those non-rounded slicks, the cornering's got to suck

RJBowman

Is that a new animated film? I don't remember a motorcycle in the original comic.

newjack

just like i said, it's the gotham by gaslight movie featuring a SURPRISE jack the ripper and cameos by other characters including poison ivy. my avatar is from the batman ninja movie.

so, today, i was visiting this link about art deco cars (many of which are incorrectly named!) and thought these were particularly interesting, and the rest of you might find more cars you like there too

well, the very FIRST 1941 batmobile wasn't special...

and batcycles aren't exactly new...

the upgrade features a side-go-kart... man that looks DANGEROUS! can anyone say "FACEPLANT"?

racing go karts are INSANE! 0-60 and back to 0 in under 3 seconds, if memory serves me right, and i see a new electric can do 0-60 in just 1.5 seconds, so it could probably get back to 0 in under 2.5 seconds

the "batpod" that separates from the "tumbler" batmobile...

and here's a sneak peek at the next "low tech" batcycle, that's already crashed. it looks like it's built for acceleration more than handling, or STEALTH with those short headers

the new batmobile is super low tech too...

The 1943 Batmobile:

Duesenberg exhaust manifolds, Rolls Royce Phantom I fin, and an awesome bat head.

That's interesting. Is that a conversion of a Ford E Series van? I don't think the E Series aka Ford Falcon were ever sold as pickup trucks, though they were sold as cabin-only chassis (which would make an awesome RV)

The pickup was produced in the first generation of E-Series, from 1961 through 1967.

Oh wow, I missed that part somehow! Well if this is so, then there must be RVs based on this as well. Although most I can see are van conversions

It was once common for automakers to offer their van models as pickup trucks.

"Cab-over-engine" pickup trucks were apparently popular in the late 1950s and early '60s, to the point that even companies without van offerings developed for the market, like Willys/Kaiser's Forward Control FC-150 and FC-170.
Spoiler: ShowHide

I also have a vague recollection of seeing an International Harvester cabover pickup truck, but cannot find a photograph.

I think that someone in my town has either a Willy,s or Harvester pickup like that.

That is a wild ride. It took me a few seconds to see how to steer the wheel.. It must be a "bear" to drive!

There are some crazy designs similar to that which do run, but not easy to ride.

That's the way to do it; make a period look object by imitating the style and detail of a real period object.

J. Wilhelm

Even though the motorcycle doesn't work, I think that something very similar could be done in a working version.
