Hi All
I'm pretty new to this site and was hoping for some help and suggestions.
Previously I posted a link to an animation I had made on youtube here - http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,50580.0.html - and am currently trying to make another animation based solely in the SP world. In the hope that other members will help with suggestions and criticisms I would be grateful if you could give me some pointers as to which is the best platform to post images and movies so that Brass Goggles members may view them.
I should add that the project is totally amateur and solely my own work.
Many thanks in anticpation of your assistance.

Sorry for the late reply. It seems most members are bypassing this section of the forum.

I don't think there is a preferred format. There is a trick, however to embedding YouTube videos, and that is simply to delete the letter "s" from the https:// prefix.

So your link

https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=L8XqlJOKu-M

Should be rewritten as

http://youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=L8XqlJOKu-M

Note I also omitted the "m." because that's a URL prefix for mobile platform. So if you just write the script, the video will automatically be embedded like this:

Stonehenge - The true story

As far as pictures is concerned, I've noted that a great number of image servers have set themselves to either not allow embedding or hot-linking and other services have become pay-only services. There's still a plethora of image servers out there, and I'll let other members tell you what they use. I happen to tweet my pictures, (Twitter stores images in Twitpic.com) and then I just embed the picture by using the brackets around the URL (or use the little button with a portrait symbol above).

Thanks for this Wilhelm - just the sort on info I was looking for.
Just coming out of the other side of a serious illness it will take me a bit of time to digest, but hopefully Brass Goggles will continue to do for me what Steampunk music has been doing for the past two years.
Many thanks.

And a speedy recovery to you sir! This is a great place to hang out, feel free to loiter to your heart's content! Though Brassgoggles has become more of a small club now than the Steampunk behemoth it used to be a decade ago, we still carry the original spirit!

Cheers!

J. Wilhelm.
