This was a pivotal performance for him as it shot the album to #1 in the UK. One of the all-time best musical events broadcast (imho):

Louie Anderson is gone. He was sort of a minor major comedian. He won an Emmy for his Life with Louie cartoon series based loosely on his own childhood, and got three Emmy nominations for his portrayal of Christine Baskets on the Baskets TV series. He also had an enigmatic non-speaking part as the floral delivery man in Ferris Bueller's Day off which always makes me think that something got left on the editing room floor.

Keep in mind that in the '70's and '80's when these legends were making their names, there were legendary performers from the WWII era and earlier who were still performing and still had fame, and they were dyeing off then. I think that the death of network television and changes to the entertainment culture has somehow had a distorting effect and made it appear that there is a disjoint in the eras, and we forget that so many great performers who are still around are getting old.

I think you mean Glenn Wheatley, former criminal, convicted for a number of months for their illegal mismanagement of the finances of various star Aussie performers. Regardless of whether he is forgiven and regretted his actions and spent the time, it is part of his history. I am surprised how much it has been glossed over by the press.

Soviet actor of Latvian origin Litsitis, Arnis Alfredovich.

(January 8, 1946, Riga — January 21, 2022, Riga)

The actor's filmography includes more than 200 films and TV series, 7-8 of them in Latvia, 8-9 in Lithuania and about 200 in Russia. Especially a lot of Litsitis was filmed in the 1980s. The actor's characteristic "Western" appearance was widely in demand in action-packed films about spies, as well as in films about the Great Patriotic War. Litsitis had no restrictions in the choice of images: he played roles both dramatic and romantic, but most often military.

Funny, the article in the Russian section of the Wiki is many times more than the article in Latvian

Mary Coombs, first woman commercial programmer, dies at 93
https://www.theregister.com/2022/03/12/obit_mary_coombs/

British programmer Mary Coombs, the first woman to program a computer designed for commercial applications, passed away on February 28 at the age of 93.

Coombs (née Blood), was born in northwest London on February 4, 1929 to William Blood and Ruth Blood (née Petri). She graduated from Queen Mary University London with a BA Honors degree in French. After spending a summer teaching English in Switzerland, she returned home in 1952 and took a temporary job in the ice-cream sales office of food chain J. Lyons & Co.
[...]
The catering company sent out a memo announcing a "computer appreciation course" to recruit employees to help program LEO. Mary Coombs was the only woman among the 10 participants and one of the two who ended up being offered a programming job, the other being Frank Land.

"It was a simple, well, sort of intelligence test really, to see whether you could manipulate things, work out the logic of things and so on," Coombs recounted in an oral history [PDF] she recorded for the British Library.

Before 'Sex Pistols' from the UK, even before 'The Ramones' from the USA, there were 'The Saints' from Australia.

The group formed in Brisbane in 1973, had their first hit with '(I'm) Stranded' in 1976, and released their first LP with the same name in 1977.

They released 14 albums with Chris Bailey the only constant member.

Gilbert Jeremy Gottfried (February 28, 1955 – April 12, 2022) was an American stand-up comedian and actor. His persona as a comedian featured an exaggerated shrill voice and emphasis on crude humor. His numerous roles in film and television include voicing the parrot Iago in Disney's Aladdin animated films and series, Digit LeBoid on PBS Kids's long-running Cyberchase, and Kraang Subprime in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Gottfried was the voice of the Aflac Duck until 2011. He appeared in the critically panned but commercially successful Problem Child in 1990.
