Hi y'all. It's been a while huh?

I'm obviously not posting this with any kind of officiality etc., it's just a project I thought was neat and I thought others here would also like. It's a crowdfunding for a solo journaling game; a game where you play along with a pen, paper, and deck of cards, to build a story. What story?

The story of an airship.

You chart the journey of a ship as it passes between captains, as they are time change you bit by bit. At the end who knows what you'll be like.

I'm completely unaffiliated I'm just in love with journaling zines at the moment and it's a little on-brand for the forum.

Personally, I've not been around as much because life, etc... You can't change names on this bucket of bolts and a few large personal realisations over the past decade have bought me to realising I don't want to be identified by this name and gender, nor do I want to recreate an account. It's been nice to pop in every year or so and see familiar names return, and sad to see some become immortalised.

Greetings Sammy,

I am confused by this game. Is it a one player game, a story being made of community contributions or what? They say that you just need an ordinary deck of cards but I can't understand what options are presented to you to help you direct the story.

Thanks Bailey, I'll keep the door open at least. Glad to see you still about.

Sorontar that's a very good question I forget my tendency to use vague descriptions assuming everyone know what I do which is silly!

It's most like a guided writing experience. Card draws match up against tables of prompts. The prompts vary by game but may include things like "you hit some bad weather and something falls overboard, write about what it is and what it means" or maybe more specific "draw 3 cards to find the personality of someone from the following list of traits; that person is trying to board you what will you do?!".

I've not seen the specifics of this yet but I've played other games in the genre called "lost and found" which are about the stories and histories of objects rather than people.

As an example I've been playing a similar game called apothecaria here where you can see the sort of things journaling games can produce.

Aye, a few too many cases of transphobia from highschool attendees and I decided to delete the whole thing I'm afraid. Twitter too, and honestly never felt better not having them. I'm on discord if you use that though!
