Layout themes for the forum

The system we use has various themes that can be used for the background. These can be set for each user individually but currently there is only the default grey/blue background with the BG logo and text in the top left corner. Von Corax, I realise you might have larger priorities with completing the upgrade (though it looks like it is going quite well, now we have got the spammers a little under control), but I was wondering if we could add additional themes, both for style and readability.

If we want to return to brown, some possibilities are:

I have no idea whether they would have everything we need, but they have been recently updated. One is light on dark, the other is dark on light.

Actually, now that the upgrade bugs have mostly been stomped, I was trying to figure out how to get someone to sort through the available themes for candidates. I'll see if I can set aside some time this weekend to test them out.

Another slightly less brown one that might be good to test is Serv2

My main concern with this one is that some of the fonts are hard to read on the darker background, but it supposedly has a dark and light mode, and the art style I can see being pleasing to some of the BG community. It was last updated last year.

Could not find my password after 10 years or so.........

An old stick drive was discovered in the bottom of a drawer, covered in dust. After quite a bit of mumbling and swearing here I am again, ooh, looks alot different and all new.

Many thanks to our wonderful Admin and Mods for what appears to be a very smooth migration. I can't imagine the amount of work and time involved.

I have installed the Burnt and Brown Shades themes (the Serv2 theme is badly broken); I invite you to try them out and post your opinions.

The brown shades is much nicer than the burnt theme's chocolate brown and orange,IMHO. We also had a very dark theme in the now defunct Steampunk Mexico Forum, and the dark tones made it hard to read the text.  The brown shades is much closer to what we had at the old server.
