Hello! I hawe a dream of applying natural, non resin chrystals to things like brooken fossiles, deer skulls, etc. I seen people using borax (Borax is for some reason realy hard to find where i live those days).

But all recepies i found on Youtube and other socail platforms is about water soluble chrystals, which does not realy work wearing outdoor in the climate here where it rains all the time, so i wonder if there are recepies of real, non resin chrystals that does not dissolve in water?

What you want is something insoluble in water but moderately soluble in a volatile solvent like alcohol, acetone or toluene. (High solubility will apparently result in tiny crystals, which I assume is not what you're after.) I have no concrete suggestions, but that might help guide your Google-fu.

Thank You! Small chrystals will do if it is too complicated to make the bigger ones, I just like to experiment for fun and i like the look of real chrystals much better than the resin ones. :-)
I would love to make something that fit into my mineral collection. The problem i had with borax in the past is that it is hygroskopic ower time so it seem to crumble into a white powder.
