Dragon Scientist

Ladies and Gentleman,

after a long time of silently admiring the beauty and creativity, both in creating a phantastic world, as well as physical goods, I dedicded to finally stop lurking, take the plunge and sign up, in the hope to turn some of that weird thoughts from my mind into words, drafts and perhaps physical stuff. As a very aesthetically oriented person, the victorian era, even more so when the Art Nouveau movement took the command, is to me the most enjoyable era when it comes to arts, fashion and architecture. Things do not have to be of any use, as long as they are aesthetically pleasing!

Anyways, I digress. For a good year or so, I already got the abstract idea of a character on my mind, who's story, background, adventures, looks and equipment I'd like to work out. As you might have guessed from my nickname, its about a nature scientist, who's field of research are dragons, and for that purpose, travels the world, often by airship, meets all kind of people and uses the latest in steam technology (admittingly, it radiates a bit of a fantasy).

Personally, I'm 47 y/o and live where the borders of Germany, Belgium and the Never Netherlands meet.

Cheers!

Thank you! I'm looking a bit at things here and there right now. :)

Welcome to the Forum, Dragon Scientist! Definitely I look forward to your interpretation of a Nature Scientist and better if you want to contribute aesthetically to the Belle Epoch, Gilded Age aesthetic.

I guess that'd be the second expert in the natural sciences after one of my characters (yes, I have more than one), Admiral Johannes Wilhelm.  I'm sure you'd be interested in a tour of the USAS Orca Research Vessel, dedicated to the exploration of far away lands and atmospheric research from the troposphere to the lower stratosphere

At your service,

Adm. Johannes Wilhelm

Welcome to a fellow dragon enthusiast.  One of my characters is Dr. Euphemia Bustlestitch, founding member of Dragon Research International Volunteers Etheric League, generally known as D.R.I.V.E.L.

Welcome from me and my dragon also.

Dragons, that reminds me of a teacher from my younger years. She was formidable. Welcome to Brass Goggles.

Dragon Scientist

Ah, more dragon lovers out there! Thank you all for your warm welcome. I'm looking for a new assistent to help we with all that work during my expeditions. Admittingly, its a sometimes dangerous occupation, and lately, I went through a few assistents. Though not every accident was related to the contact with dragons...

I have been lucky in that regard.  My butler, Cogsworthy, is an exemplary travelling companion and seems able to produce  a good cup of tea or a dragon treat when required.  Hmmm? do we need a dragon (as opposed to Dragon tamers) thread?
