I've noticed that there seems to be no proper place to showcase the eligible captains/knaves and ladies/rogues of our fine Steampunk community, so if you just happen to be currently single, do feel free to gather here!

After all, would our machines not function all that much better with an extra cog added?  ;D

Also, seems like a good way to meet those looking for a friends and a "occasional spare part" if you catch my drift.  :o

With all the compliments being strewn about, I figure we can already compile a list of potential singles - because not everyone who gives compliments is single, of course :)

An "extra gear" slipped out of my hand a while back and I am having much difficulty locating a new one. Experience has taught me that they seem to appear whenever you are not looking for them, but I figured I would stick my hand up :D

I have always been single and will be for quite some time yet.

I think there are two singles ad type threads lingering about, but as for a dedicated site or what-not, I don't believe so. I tend to have a problem with collecting men who mostly just want under my bodice. Being single is now dangerous for a lady!
Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, and let go of what you can't change. Kiss slowly, play hard, love deeply, forgive quickly, take chances, give everything, and have no regrets. Life is too short to be anything but HAPPY.

Men? There are knaves, if that is all what they want, miss.

And despite the relative tame word I use to describe them, I do mean it.

I am single ... I remember someone once said here on BG, mad scientists are driven mad by living and working in solitude for very long amounts of time; That's me to a T ;)
The mad scientist living and working in solitude! Althought I dont want to ...

Anyone else who collects old bottles and likes voltmeters and mad scientists please, make yourself known to me!

I would suggest styrine, certainly, especially plasticard.  Then again, I'm of the opinion that plasticard is the correct answer to any situation.

Oh, and I'm not single* so I will now bow out gracefully.

To continue this excellent joke would derail the thread, so I will simply applaud and say "well done".

As can be no doubt ascertained by my posting of this topic, I am single and looking for that fellow tinkerer!

i thinK you will find that some of us are not so shallow as to judge the machine by its caseing but rather by the beauty of its gears.

Oh it isn't the opinions of others on my physicality that bother me. I am the one who finds myself to be physically unacceptable. I will not even hug anyone as I greatly dislike the feel of my fat being squashed into others. Any sort of physical relationship ( which do tend to go along with the usual sort of relationships most people have )  is an impossibility for me at the moment.

I'm not much use to anyone if they can't even so much as hug me for over a year. That would be most unfair.

Hmm, i guess it rather would be unfair.
But maybe if you found the right person then you wouldnt mind?

I must most strongly agree with the esteemable Mr. Faust.  These... people... (and I feel I'm soiling the word by using it to include them) are not men, although I'd go so far as not to call them knaves either, for I know a few of these last, and most knaves would be sorely offended to be included with such churls.

No, milady, there are those of us here who appreciate far more the brain than the body, and who appreciate intellectual stimulation at least as much as that of the more coarse variety.

Yeah... as good as it is to apreciate the mind and what not I just like big girls too :-[ heh heh heh ^^;

But of course, any lady I got close to would have to have some kind of unusual mind (or prefarably be a mad scientist like me ;D!) these mundane and regular humans just dont cut it for me ... I mean c'mon, someone collect taxidermy or do fencing or something interesting! Where did all the nice odd people go? :D

Single; traditional steampunker. I dabble with tesla-like electronics. Emphasis on the traditional; While I may not always dress steampunk; my mannerisms are a bit old fashioned hence what attracted me to steampunk in the first place.

I am fascinated by wood, brass, goggles and clockwork. I'm a traditional catholic; I love the courteous nature of the steampunk community. I'm rather understanding, and quite quirky myself. I'm also a bit of a technophile. >>

I know they sound horribly clashing; but my interests fit like gears in a clock. Usually I'm too traditional for the neophiles, and too techy for traditionalists.. I'm extreme in both realms; and it leaves me rather much stuck single :P.

It does me good to see a gentlemen agreeing with me :) Though I would be flat out lying if I said that to me the outside does not matter at all, it is the inside that counts - if the outside is all that matters, one might as well engage in a relationship with an automaton.
