I was thinking we could start a list of suppliers as an easy reference when someone is looking for a particular item.

If you know of a good online supplier, respond here with the url and a very brief description of what the site offers.  I'll compile the posts here, and organize it somehow. If we get a good list going, maybe we can convince the admin to make this a sticky thread.

Might be worth mentioning, what with this being an international community and all, that United Nuclear refuse to sell outside the United States. (More specifically, they refuse to have anything to do with international shipping or Customs clearances.)

If you live on the east coast there is a sutlers store in Gettysburg, PA. I did a little reenacting few years back and that was the place to go for authentic apparel. I still have my Shell Jacket that I bought there.

I have a local leather supplier that is just amazing! they don't have an online presence but I would be more than willing to be a go between taking pictures of items they may suggest from your inquiries and sending them out (up to 7 megapixel with an incredible macro capability if surface texture and what the pores of the skin are like is important!) I will get their phone number and address as they are so incredibly cheap and the quality so much better as well as a vastly larger array or leather items and tools as well as hardware to boot that it is worth it to buy and ship (though if you are getting something from me I can ship it most cases free since shipping has been paid or I can purchase it for you and ship through a cheaper means than UPS which is I believe their primary method of shipping.)

the place is called EC leather and they are on 6th street in Tulsa OK USA incase anyone is wondering. I will dig to learn a bit more about them so one might know more of what sort of place you would look for to find a leather supplier like them locally in you respective countries too as they are not a typical leather supplier. (30,000 square feet of shelves stuffed with so much leather you can smell the place from a block away. as I said before mmmmmm.... leather one of the  best smells in the world and no matter how they try to duplicate it there just is no substitute for the real thing.)

*edit* here is their info for anyone wanting it. I will try to take some pictures so you can see that they really mean business when it comes to leather.

Sorry, Rowan - I have never been to the shop, and they don't like to post prices...  you would probably have to go there yourself, or find a friend in the area to proxy for you.

Some of the smaller rocket pods gave me ideas - now just to figure out where to put the fuel, how to route the controls, and how to secure it all - to my bicycle...
