I'll certainly be looking for your music.

But as to the filming I was the other side of the camera being interviewed because of my interest in vampire movies. I did a days filming with Ingrid Pitt, Fenella Fielding, a couple of 'academics' and some other friends from the vampire clubs.
We did about 7 'link' shorts that have been shown quite regularly on Film 4 and Channel 4 everytime they have an excuse to show a vampire season of movies.
The director was Jake West who made 'Razorblade Smile', 'Evil Aliens' and, most recently 'Doghouse' with Danny Dyer.
The building was freezing.

There's some great stuff in this thread. My personal favourite steampunk discovery of recent days is Sunday Driver. I know they've already been mentioned, but I think they deserve another mention!

I've got the music, and the time, and the inclination to do a Steampunk friendly (but not strictly Steampunk) kind of radio show.

I'm fairly surprised no one has mentioned Kaizer's Orchestra yet. They're a Norwegian band who have an affinity for gas masks and writing lyrics about the Mafia, and their music can be lighthearted to some of the most depressing stuff you've ever heard, but I personally think they're wonderful and fit quite well in the "steampunk" category.

The oh-so-knowledgeable Wikipedia describes their music as "fast-paced gypsy rock and 'Balkan brass,'" and they're quite industrial/grungy sounding. They use accordions, oil drums, and brass and string instruments, as well as your typical rock instruments. (Oh and ladies (and fabulous men), did I mention they're handsome? I don't know if they're single, but we at least have pictures.)

"Djevelens Orkester"--one of my favorites.

"Rullett"--has a really nice beat.

"Veterans Klage"--a rather strange tune, and always reminds me of a traveling circus.

How comes I couldn't find Daedelus on the first post's list yet? He's mighty mention-worthy.



His musical work is quite a thing to describe. I'd say he moves somewhere inbetween experimental electronic, acoustic ambient and swing music. Each song has a unique atmosphere to it but always keeps a touch of being hand made and antique. I might suggest searching up the three tracks Aplomb, Taking Wing and Fallen Love on youtube for examples.

P.S.: In case of anyone's ears and brain feeling attracted enough to purchase his music - his first three releases Invention (2002), Of Snowdonia (2004) and Exquisite Corpse (2005) are a lot better than the later ones.

i also saw emilie autumn for the first time this year it was amazing. can't wait to see her again next year ^_^ but i noticed that she does not have a official musicvideo? or does she?

there is also this frensh female singer called emilie simon..she makes electro pop music wich is not exacly steampunk but her latest album has a stampunk feel to it. it is called the big machine and i love it she even wears a steampunk like costume on the cover of the album.
