Good heavens, it's gone quiet in here!  Did the Martians invade again, or something?!

Hello from Tyne and Wear!

E.J.MonCrieff

Just wanted to draw the attention of people to the Steampunk Event that will (I hope) take place at Portmeirion next year.

https://portmeirion.steampunk.wales/

Unfortunately the Aberystwyth Steampunk weekend had to be cancelled (we all know why).  Still, there's a possibility of a real journey on a steam train on the Sunday.

You do realise you've jinxed it now, don't you?

I do hope not!  I've just booked accommodation for Portmeirion for a long weekend with the express intention of supporting the event.  I'm working on a Plague Doctor's face mask, and will be carrying appropriate sanitiser for my trip on the train!

Hi everyone
Go easy on a newbie oldie
I'm just trying to find suitable information to make inroads to get into the style, but finding it hard to make connections in my area.
I found a small group in Ashton-Under-Lyne so hopefully will be going to see them soon.

Joining in from the vibrant city of Bristol. It's fantastic to see such a diverse group from all over the UK. Always up for a steampunk meetup or event in the area. Anyone

Hello
I'm just north of you in South Glos (near Thornbury).

This forum seems pretty dead, so wondering where the UK Steampunkers are hiding.

Well this weekend quite a lot of us are braving the weather in Whitby - and having a splendid time too.
