There is an apocryphal tale that when Archbishop Mannix of Melbourne visited Walhalla he was served a haunch of ham that was actually young wombat and was none the wiser.
Now that they are rarer and protected in most environs, they will be one of our few fauna that I haven't sampled.

There is an old abandoned dairy co-operative in my town. Too loaded with asbestos to do anything with, so it just sits and moulders away.

Unsure as to whether to call this Abandoned or Steamy Steampunk Buildings. This seems to be part of a building in Fremantle, Western Australia which was left there as decoration when the rest of it was demolished to make parking space.

The following was shot out of a train window at Gordonvale. The place may not be abandoned, I don't know if it just is that run-down anyway; but it looks like that outside of crushing season.

Military installations  were aesthetically  designed. This was much effort to go go  for  what is effectivelying look outs and target shooting  boxes. Was it a sense of pride , we're they thinking that if we were invaded , at least the enemy would know  we didn't not have shabby installation.  New Zealand  is dotted with everywhere.  To the point that in the local area there are power boxes  done up to look like military boxes.
