Belgian steampunk

Hello my name is Glenn ( Jiswah ) and I'm new on the forum.

I'm sorry if it might be asked already, but are there other Belgian steampunks?
A few months ago a friend and me started what we think is the first Belgian steampunk society, Steamnation.
Just because we don't want to go to the Netherlands or France to do what we want.
And we want to make steampunk more known and accessible in Belgium.
I would love some response.

Sorry als dit al eens gevraagd geweest is maar zijn er nog echte Belgische steampunkers?
Enkele maanden geleden hebben een vriend en ik Steamnation opgestart. Wij denken dat dit de eerste echte Belgische steampunk vereniging is.
Gewoon omdat we niet als Belg bij een Nederlandse of Franse groep willen.
En omdat we zo steampunk in België bekender en toegankelijker willen maken.
Graag wat reactie.

I'm from Limburg (B). I normally only check the Europe childboard so it is a coincident that I saw this here.

Ik denk persoonlijk toch niet dat in België steampunk mainstream kan worden, er zijn gewoon te weinig mensen die het kennen en het is nog altijd iets wat veel mensen geeky bekijken.
Het zou gewoon leuk zijn om met meerdere mensen samen te kunnen komen zonder altijd naar Nederland te moeten. (zeker als je zoals ik in West-Vlaanderen zit)

Of Steampunk 'mainstream' wordt, kan worden, nooit zal worden, goh... 't Maakt niet uit, als het leuk genoeg is.
Zolang je niet alleen bent, da's natuurlijk wat minder.

Ook, 'ontmoeten', 'samenkomen', ... Ik heb zelf een beetje een sociale handicap, maar ik versta niet goed wat er te doen valt bij een samenkomst. Je zit/staat, verkleed, te praten, gok ik. Ideeën uitwisselen, vertellen/opscheppen over verschillende uitvindingen, ...?
Of de hele tijd in persona blijven, en ingebeelde anecdotes vertellen?
Ik zou het niet weten.
Als ik een mede-steampunker (ik geloof dat wanneer 'steampunk' de setting is, de personen die erin meedoen, niet ook 'steampunks' kunnen noemen, dat is onlogisch) zou ontmoeten, zie ik me eerder iets radicaler voorstellen: Iets als een moordmysterie, cluedo style, en/of het houden van duels (duellen?).
Met een arsenaal aan nerfs wordt hier thuis zowiezo al sporadisch op elkaar geschoten, duels zijn eenvoudig qua middelen (nerfs) en achtergrond (duellen-duels zijn erg 'klassiek', de sprong naar steampunk is gemakkelijk gemaakt)

Allé, dat is mijn gedacht.
Als ik 'steampunkers komen samen en doen wat' denk, dan is die 'wat' een beetje LARP en wat geNerf...

Hi everyone, I am part of a photo club in Belgium and we would love to create a photo shoot session. We have a studio and can arrange a viasagist as well, even models if needed.

What we really would need are some people in Belgium that are interested and have already steampunk accessories. Can anyone being interested reply to this thread, point to other sites with more folks, or write me a direct email with the header: steampunk photo shoot

Greetings, fellow Belgians. I grew up in Brussels, although I do live in Aachen, Germany right now. Unfortunately my Dutch and my French are a little rusty because of that. Nice to see so many Steampunks in Brussels and the area!
