If some one wished to purchase an early Christmas present for me - one of these will do nicely.

Did you just go PSSSSSSST at me or have I just sprung a leak?

I'm not retreating, I'm advancing in another direction.

wow  :o  very nice, very detailed, and beautiful damascus steel blades!

Call me sceptical, but Doesn't say that they are so could be made to look like Damascus.
Yes, they are very nice and that fine detail would put me of using them.

Looks beautiful, but all those fiddly bits on the handle would make me afraid to use it.

And I wish the gears in the handle meshed.

Ah, but to be honest - if you were in such dire straits that you needed to use such a work of art, then the fiddly bits may not weigh so heavily on your reasoning...
As for the gears... well, everything else meshes to the nth degree, so maybe it could be seen as a Zen Thing?

;)

Edit:Looking more carefully, most of the gears do seem to mesh, but in sets, not all together.

Van Barnett is probably most famous "steampunk bladesmith", but many have liked also works from Andre Andersson. http://steampunker.ru/blog/weapon/7326.html

There was quite interesting folding knife also in some German messageboard. http://www.messerforum.net/showthread.php?103990-Keine-Sehkuh-kein-Hirsch-kein-Zweck-Stefan-Steigerwald-Steampunk-%28viele-Bilder%29

Ah, I stand corrected on the gears not meshing. Nice.

Beautiful art piece. I haven't seen too many steampunk knives I really liked.

Certainly not a knife I would carry though.

Personally, I think Serge Panchenko takes first place when it comes to steampunk knives.  His use of color and contrasting metals is spot on, as are his shapes.  His galleries are well worth your time.

Peter Martin, Bruce Bump and "Yura" decor studio from steampunker.ru has also made a lot of very good looking steampunk knifes.

I stumbled upon to new very good looking steampunk folding knife. http://www.williamhenry.com/monarch-steam-ghost.html

Engraved by Aleksey Saburov, who is quite famous for his elaborate hobo nickels. http://www.saburovart.com/2011 - http://www.saburovart.com/2012 - http://www.saburovart.com/2014

There is another very good looking William Henry forder with steampunk side panels by engraver Tom Sterling: http://www.bladesmithsforum.com/index.php?showtopic=30604

He has also created quite interesting anglerfish design for Serge Panchenko coin claw pendant knife: http://tsterling.deviantart.com/art/Steampunk-Coin-Claw-Pendant-Knife-1-520189171 - https://fi.pinterest.com/pin/421086633886845993/
