Since I seem to have become the custodian of this Board, I suppose I should chip in.

While wandering YouTube a week or so ago, I stumbled upon an ongoing series of videos wherein is made a John Wilding Large Wheel Skeleton Clock, machined from the raw metal; there are also regular side-trips to make specialized tools required for the main project.

The resource consists of the Clickspring YouTube Channel as well as the Clickspring project site.

Great channel. I've also been drooling over this sort of stuff for years. Before the days of this new fangled interweby stuff. I used to advertise in the horological mags and there was often an article on Wildings clocks.
