Airship designers/afficionados in Melbourne... 13September

Unfortunately I'm busy this coming week, but for those in the vicinity of Melbourne:

The Airlander 10 first flight occurred in August in the UK after a first flight for the US Army LEMV in 2012.
Whilst the LEMV was then cancelled due to budget constraints, Hybrid Air Vehicles has resurrected the aircraft and the future looks bright for another revival of buoyant aircraft. There are so many advances in aeronautical technology wrapped in this huge vehicle that RAeS and EA members and guests will need to hear all the details first hand from the Australian Lead Engineer on the Airlander team. Rowan Geddes was an RMIT Aerospace Graduate who worked for over 10 years at DSTO Airframes and Engines Division in composites and UAVs. He is now the Lead Propulsion Systems Engineer for the HAV Airlander 10 project, as he was for the LEMV project. He was also the Test Conductor for the recent first flight, so he has some great inside stories on this topical aircraft development.
