Sorry, I know I look ticked off, and studio mess is intruding on the pic.

I rarely look like this.  I generally wear 1930's gear.

And one in the engine of a train, on accounta Hac did one too. ;)

I've already posted a photo in this outfit on here, so I'm afraid I'm committing a bit of a social faux pas but here you go....

The jacket makes me look a little chubby which sucks, but you get that.

Well, I can't say that I look particularly good, but this is the closest and only attempt I have truly made at traditional. Anyways, there you are, and here it is. My apologies for the small size.

Well I am a professor Mysterious, so where's the fun in a full picture?

Incidentally, that's a Calico Jack Rackham flag on the wall behind me and a book case of odds and ends.

May as well post a picture while I'm here:

if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Honestly, I'm not sure how they recognized me without all the makup and being sober.
That's a great story.

I kinda had the reverse happen to me -- Once, for a Halloween nightclub outing, I dressed up as the Claude Raines' "Invisible man". I was bandaged from the neck up, wrapped in a nice dressing robe, ascot, gloves -- every square inch covered.

I told no one about my costume -- but just as I walk up to the nightclub, someone yells "Hey- It's CHEYENNE!"

I did do some stage acting in my college days -- sadly I have no shots of that, but after I moved to Seattle I did play with the Rocky Horror crowd for a few years (as Eddie -- of course). Here is a "regular show" shot and one from our Rocky Horror Muppet Show

Miss Miranda K.

This truely is one of my better pics...(took a scouch of effort)

It's interesting to note, being a Pirate Queen and Blade Goddess, that this is one of the rare photographs where I'm not holding a blade...

Fight the machine? I am a machine.

In general, I'm operating on the assumption that function begets form when it comes to attire, as a steampunk lifestyle will inevitably have one wearing goggles (for metalworking and velocipede riding), overalls, (for dirty work), and such.  There is of course opportunity to compose dress-up outfits for formal occasions and I have posted pictures of those.  But it's not just about recreating an old look, it's about adding that postapocalyptic touch to it.  For everyday living:

I always hem my collars into band collars, trying to imitate the paramilitaristic look of early bicycle clubs.  Same with the knickers, I like spikes instead of buttons.  Boots have a steel metatarsal guard for forging and ironworking.  Pillbox-style rail conductor's caps are nice if you're lower class than the top-hatted gentry.  Home-cast brass belt buckle.  Shootin' iron.

I must admit, I look a bit young for a mad scientist in sepia...

With frockcoat...

And without...

(tuck that shirt in!)

That is basically my day to day wear... It does seem to worry the other college students, especially when I've got goggles and a toolbelt.
"What's that?"
"Hmm? Oh a mechanical lobster."
"Why?"
"Why not?"

Please to be ignoring my messy room

I want to get some pince-nez, instead of the 50s glasses i'm wearing here.

I couldn't agree more, So I figured I should post a picture of my more functional wear.
