After discussion on Saturday, it was agreed we'd like to start up the Brass Goggles camp at the Shakespeare's Steam Rally again this summer, so I've looked up the dates, and started to compile them into some sort of order along with other events of interest.

PLEASE ADD YOUR OWN SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS! There's a world full of interest out there, so if you know of a place or event in the region, do share it with like-minded folk!

Had a lovely evening at Bantock House and the manager there approached me, with mayor of Wolverhampton no doubt, and said she would like to do something with the steampunk community. She is leaving it up to us to suggest ideas. They sell sales spaces in their indoor area for £20 per table for sellers. So should anyone want to come up with an idea or two please let me know and I can pass it on.

Also just a thought would anyone consider having a picnic/ promonade around the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, a fine example of Victorian garden architecture?

Next Easter is the fifth anniversary of the inaugral BG West Midlands meet-up... coincidentally it was held at the Botanical Gardens.... it might be nice to have a revisit, around April/ May, weather permitting of course.

More Edwardian than Victorian, but rather lovely. I particularly recommend a visit in bluebell season as it has one of the best bluebell woods in Birmingham.

Just reading this as we used to live in Worcester and interested in what is going on. Ebay is fab for hats, as long as you accept that they won't always be described or measured correctly. Some real bargains though. Only downside is you build up quite a collection before you settle on what suits you. Think out the box a little. I bought a bowler and my wife laughed, now she has pinched it...........
